<p>&#8220;I am a mother of two. A beautiful two year old toddler girl and a wonderful 8mo old baby boy.  I have always been “in shape” because I worked “hard” for it. I played sports and just played around at the gym. I ate how I wanted but never over board. After having my daughter I bounced right back into shape. I am in the military and a police officer so I stay pretty active. I thought that was the best shape that I could be. I became pregnant with my second and last child last year. After giving birth to my son I felt like I couldn’t get my mojo back. I felt like that was going to be the body I was stuck in, and I began making excuses for myself. I went from 142 to 180 at the end of the pregnancy.</p>

I thought it was a hoax and that someone was about to walk away with my cash, but I was desperate and knew that if he was mentioned on this site then someone else tried him and these people on this site are real people. So I gave it a try. I emailed Obi Obadike and asked for help. He replied so fast so that’s why I figured even more that it was a hoax.</p>
<p>But he kept replying and sending me updates and I started to feel better in the first two weeks. Then my weight started dropping. Then I could see body changes. I never met this guy; we never talked on the phone. We just emailed and he changed my mentality about people and my body in three months and just kept updating my program. It was up to me to do the work. I broke the workouts up and did a workout twice a day (weights in the morning, and cardio in the afternoon). I’m not afraid of weights, I’m not afraid of my body, and I’m never again giving excuses or allowing anyone else I care about for that matter to do so eighter. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I wrote an article not long ago about consuming carbs late at night and what it could do to your body well not long after that I read scientific research that contradicted what I wrote which happens to any fitness expert or fitness writer from time to time. The best way to learn is to make mistakes and there is no fitness expert that knows everything but if you have the ability to be open to learning new things and open to new research that comes about, then you have the ability to be a better teacher and a better fitness expert that will hopefully help people obtain their fitness goals. With that being said here is an article below that I am writing about the consumption of carbs for fat loss that contradicts some stuff I wrote not long ago based on research that was brought to my attention and based on conversations I had with Dr Jim Stoppani. Dr Jim Stoppani holds a doctorate in exercise physiology with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Connecticut. He has been the personal nutrionist and health consultnat for a numerous amount of celebrity clients. If you google him you will see that he is a world renowned fitnes expert and a great wealth and resource of knowledge on nutrition and training.</p>

<p>Carbohydrates are one of the important macronutrients and many people are clueless on when is the best time to really consume carbs for your respective fitness and fat loss goals. Carbs is the body’s primary chief energy source which should be used for burning fuel but if you over consume them as well as fats, proteins or just overall daily calories it will lead to weight gain and fat gain.</p>
<p>Carbohydrates are essential for giving you energy throughout the day although there is no research study that proves that there is a certain time of the day to consume carbs for fat loss. At the same time for energy level purposes it doesn’t make sense to wait until the end of the day to consume carbs because it will affect your energy levels and your brain functionality throughout day. There are some people that are unique where they can function relatively well with very little carbs throughout the day from an energy level perspective.  I spoke to Dr. Jim Stoppani about this when I was at the Arnold fitness Expo back in March of 2012 and he said why would you make yourself a zombie through-out the day because you want to wait to consume your carbs during some specific latter part of the day.</p>
<p>Per Dr. Jim Stoppani it doesn’t make sense to not have carbs in the morning time because you limit your energy levels by waiting to consume them during the latter part of the day. His words to me was why make yourself suffer if you don’t have to.  Restricting your carbs late at night will not help you lose any more fat unless you are decreasing your overall daily caloric intake. This seems to be a myth out there and in fact I even believed that because I read this in many fitness magazines.</p>
<p>If you have a goal of improving your fat loss you should focus on how many daily calories you are consuming as opposed to what time of the day to consume carbs and you should focus on having a healthy good balance of carbs, fats and proteins in your diet. There was a research study on obese police officers who shifted their consumption of carbs during their last meal as opposed to spreading their carbs throughout the day and they actually had better fat loss consuming carbs late at night which was quite interesting. <p>I spoke to Dr Jim Stoppani about this study in great detail and he said just because that study worked on obese individuals doesn’t mean the result of this study would work on a highly conditioned fitness enthusiast or highly conditioned athlete because the biochemistry of an obese person and someone that is in great shape are totally different. The obese individual and highly conditioned athlete processes things in your body differently.  Per Dr. Stoppani’s words just because a research study has been administered doesn’t mean the end result is the bible or gospel but nonetheless this research study is a great reference information tool in the understanding of the consumption of carbs late at night.</p>
<p>It is also important to know the difference between good carbs and bad carbs so at least you know what are the best carbs to consume for fat loss.  Good carbs are full of fiber, minerals, vitamins which consist of brown Rice, wild rice, millet barley, whole grain cereal, whole wheat pasta, vegetables, fresh fruits and oatmeal which are all great carbs options.  Bad carbs on the other hand are full of sugar and white flour which can send your blood sugar levels skyrocketing upwards and they are honey, molasses, fruit juices, soda, white bread and white pasta.  Eating a diet that is full of bad carbohydrates can lead to an array of medical problems. These issues include weight gain, an increase in the risk of diabetes and an increase chance of heart disease.</p>
<p>The minimal recommended daily intake for carbohydrate consumption is 130 grams per day per the American Dietetic Association. However the individual’s needs vary based on the person’s activity levels, body size and respective fitness goals. But some individuals that are really trying to aggressively lose body fat have been known to do fairly well on 50 grams of carbs per day or less.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>HIIT- High Intensity Interval Training is one of the best cardiovascular training methods for fat loss and muscle maintenance. It is one of the preferred cardio training methods out there because you can burn an infinite amount of calories in less than 30 minutes a day. The main concept and science behind HIIT- (High Intensity Interval Training) is training in intervals and training at different speeds. One of the most important things for HIIT is never allowing your body to adapt to the same level of intensity which will allow your body to fall into a steady state.</p>
<p>Always try to change the pace of the intensity and pushing yourself through each interval which is key for HIIT. Interval training can be something like an all-out sprint or jogging to lower your heart rate and then changing the speed after 30 seconds and sprinting again. Different high interval cardio training activities that you can do are sprinting, boxing, jump-roping and even a treadmill, elliptical or stair-master which are all great for fat loss.</p>
<p>The treadmill still burns more calories per hour then the elliptical, stair-master or bike. So it is more favorable for calorie burning purposes but the bike and elliptical is better on the body and joints then the treadmill. One of the negatives to high-interval training is that it carries a greater risk of injury and is physically and psychologically demanding to the body because of the level of intensity of the training.</p>
<p>The advantage of HIIT is that you can burn more calories within a shorter period of time without having to spend hours a day performing cardio which is what appeals to many people in society which is less time working out. One of the greatest things about HIIT is the after burn which is the excess Post Oxygen Consumption. You not only burn a lot of calories at the workout but you will burn just as much or more after the workout. High interval training has the ability to change your body’s calorie burning capabilities.</p>
<p>There have been many research studies out there that have said that long endurance activities such as marathon running can cause muscle catabolism which basically means the breakdown of the loss of muscle tissue which can sometimes last up to 7 days after the activity takes place. The four benefits of HIIT are increase speed, increase power, increase endurance and burns more calories by increasing your metabolism so you lose fat faster.  Many professional athletes incorporate this in their training because it has been proven to improve athletic performance.</p>
<p><strong><span>High interval Cardio Exercises- Calories burned in 30 Minutes- Perform any of these at least 3 times a week for fat burning purposes</span></strong></p>
<p><strong>Sprinting on Track- Burns 400 calories to 430 calories for a person that weighs anywhere from 150 pounds to 200 pounds. <p>There are several research studies that have been done that favors that high intensity interval training is more favorable for fat loss then low intensity training. A study performed by Jeffrey W. King of East Tennessee State University that was published May 2001 showed that HIIT increases the resting metabolic rate for the following 24 hours. <p>There was another research study done by M Sanchez Pacheco on rats and they had these rats perform high intensity cardio exercises and low intensity cardio exercises at the same amount of work. The rats that performed high intensity exercises lost more fat then then rats that performed low intensity exercises. There was a significant loss of body-fat by these rats that performed high intensity exercises at 80 to 90 percent of their maximum heart rate while there was no significant change in body-fat that was found in the lower intensity group that performed 60% to 70% of their maximum heart rate.</p>
<p>Personally high interval cardio training has been a huge factor to me maintaining the type of conditioning I maintain all year round and it is a incredible key component when I am getting ready for magazine cover-shoots. <p>Before starting any HIIT workout always start with a good warm-up and then end with a good cool-down before you end the workout which is great to prevent any injuries. Lastly because you are going to burn a lot of calories within a shorter period of time make sure you are constantly keeping yourself hydrated by drinking lots of water to avoid cramping up during the exercise and after the exercise. HIIT is arguably the best way to train cardiovascular wise for fat loss.</p>

<p><span><strong>Fitness Tip:</strong></span> Always do your cardio if possible time permitting of course after you weigh-train and not before. The reason being is performing cardio after you weight-train will reduce your energy and strength levels. Light cardio to warm-up for 5 to 10 minutes is perfectly fine but try to perform your cardio after you weight-train because it is better for strength levels, lean muscle mass gains and fat burning purposes. There is a research study that supports this theory that will be posting in the article! Will be posting an article about this in the near future with an elaborative research study that supports this theory.</p>
